Hi,
I'm an experienced web developer that now has to write content for display on a domino server.
My question is simple, can I create valid xhtml using the designer client, or do I do what I currently do which is to write the webpage in 3 minutes in eclipse, with all the javascript/css and so on.. and then import the lot as files.
The way I currently do it, I dont have to click on an endless series of little finnikity controls and add inline javascript, the xhtml is portable to another server, and the javascript unobtrusive.
The reason I ask is that I needed a custom login form, I saw the howto on creating domcfg.nsf with enthusiasm, only to see that this would limit me somewhat to using the designer client. I gave up after 60minutes of fiddling around in designer. I can acheive tip top modern design and code in less time in notepad.
I am sorry to moan but it comes from frustration. Does *anyone* actually /use/ the designer client to write 503/WAI compliant sites using W3C standards to create xhtml.?? If so, how? (Let alone the modular html coming out and xforms etc... what are we to do but abandon this clunky 90's beast?)rant over - i feel much better now. m :)
